Summerland Bluegrass Festival
The hooting and hollering coming from West of Summerland is likely from one of two places: the annual Summerland Bluegrass Festival or Kettle Valley Steam Railway's Great Train Robbery re-enactment. Each year, bluegrass lovers flock to the Summerland Rodeo Grounds for a ‘jam’ unlike any found at Summerland Sweets. Budding musicians may sit and watch while others perform on an outdoor stage or grab their acoustic guitar and join-in. Space for everything from tents to RVs allow festival participants to camp for three days under the Okanagan’s warm Summer sky. A pancake breakfast gives participants and spectators alike the energy to play notes, sing tunes and stay awake. The coffee bar is a popular place for those who purchase wines on Bottleneck Drive and continue singing back at the campsite a little too late into the night.
